Inspirational Women Series: Susie Ahern

Happy Monday Biz Gals! Today we celebrate Vocal Technician and Mentor Susie Ahern. 

This inspirational woman is one whose voice has graced more legendary number one hits than you can possibly imagine and who has backed some of the most talented Australian artists of our time including; John Farnham, Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John, Guy Sebastian, Tim Campbell and Anthony Callea. 

Susie is a woman who champions those around her to become the best they can be. Her passion, dedication and exuberance is electric and we are honoured to feature her as our next Inspirational Biz Gal.

Biz Gals: What is your greatest achievement? 
Susie: A very difficult question to answer!
I have done so many wonderful gigs and worked with some incredible people. I think my greatest achievement is being a Mum to my twin boys (now young men). In a business sense I really think it’s an amazing achievement to get to the end of each show and know that I’ve done the best I could possibly do.

Biz Gals: What is the greatest lesson you have learnt? 
Susie: I’ve learned the value of preparation and knowing when to shut up and listen.

Biz Gals: What is the best bit of advice you have been given? 
Susie: If you keep working at it you get better, so keep working!

Biz Gals: What or who inspires you? 
Susie: I am inspired by art and the beauty of the natural world. I am also constantly inspired by the artists and musicians I work with.

Biz Gals: What is your biggest hope for women in the future?
Susie: A part of what I do is music production. I am constantly amazed at how difficult it is for women to be treated equally in this area. I would love to see a more accepting and equal playing field for women to make their mark in the world, wherever they choose.
